I like how the book is outlined and the way how topics are presented. It makes learning JavaScript easier and more comprehensive. It provides a road map and practice exercises which are helpful in understanding the concepts of JavaScript programming. The tips and tricks are more than helpful to effectively start coding.

The book is riddled with grammatical errors and is hard to follow. I also found syntax errors with some of the code samples in the book. If your goal is to learn Java, I would look elsewhere.I did however like how the topics were laid out.

This book set is ideal to learn all the basics of programming. Well written and full of practical examples that makes learning much easier. Highly recommend this book set.

Womack's book AFROFuturism is like having a fascinating conversation with a knowledgeable friend while sharing a generous cup of Earl Grey tea, hot.For anyone who has not heard of AFROFuturism, Womack's book is an excellent starting point. For those of us who have been involved in AFROCentric speculative fiction, photography, art or multimedia with a futuristic feel, Womack's book is a delightful confirmation that we are not alone in the universe. Womack did considerable research and her notes at the end provide helpful guidance for readers and writers of speculative fiction who want to get more involved.Womack tell us that AFROFuturism is much more than sci-fi stories about starship captains bouncing throughout the galaxy on sexual conquests. Literature, music, art, dance, politics are all linked to inspire us to create a new future. People of African descent are seeking to go were no "person" has gone before. Each chapter explores a different aspect of AFROFuturism. She manages to meld together anecdotal material, research facts as well as personal insight without being too preachy or lofty. This is not a dry "thesis" written for academic credit, nor smoky, whimsical abstraction. It is a thoughtful document crammed with personal insights.She suggests that the word "AFROFuturism" is fairly new to the cultural scene. It was first mentioned in 1992 by a writer named Mark Dery. But George Clinton's Mothership had landed long before Dery popularized the term. Sun Ra had been creating music that talked about space and other planets in the 1950s and 60s. Therefore, it would be shorted-sighted and mean-spirited to accuse Womack of leaving out a few references or new activities. AFROFuturism is growing faster than print. Anyone who desires the most up-to-date activities can use Social Media on the Internet.My ultimate rating for Afrofuturism: The World of Black Sci-Fi and Fantasy Culture should be a 4.5 (but Amazon doesn't allow for .5).

I bought this book right after reading Octavia Butler's "Bloodchild" (which I highly recommend) because I wanted a little more insight regarding black's in science fiction. I have sadly read very little author's that are Black/African American, and I'm glad I'm correcting that. Without spoiling it, I will say that this definitely a book you may not necessarily read for pleasure, though I did. This is one of those books you could take notes in, learn something, use as a reference. This could be a gateway book to other books in the genre of afrofuturism. Of course, I did enjoy it because I learned some history regarding famous artists and where afrofuturism originated from (to an extent) and where that influence has led since. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a little history lesson, some more author's and artists to discover, etc.

Womack does a great job of describing and exploring the terrain of Afrofuturism, although at parts shies away from some internal debates. It feels written for an audience unfamiliar with the field, and as such tries to give a more seamless and coherent picture than may actually exist. Such it is with any cultural movement.A great jumping off point for deeper exploration and later study--especially what may stand at odds with Afrofuturism as presented herein!

There are a few interesting ideas here, but this book is not clear about what it wants to be. It is not really deep dive into the ideas, it is not really a history, it is not really a reading list... it is a bit of all those things but ends up feeling more like a personal testimonial about how cool afrofuturism is than anything else.

I bought this for my partner after we saw Black Panther.He loves it, hasn’t put it down since it arrived. He isn’t one than reads books, mostly magazines & on line news & articles.

Inwas not familiar with many of the forms/venues in which thevsubjects of his discourse and analysis were located. Illustrations, pictures, and photgraphs would have been very helpful

As a self proclaimed Afrofuturist author and artist, I found Ms. Womack's work to be both informative and inspiring. Growing up in the inner city of Cleveland, OH, I often felt alone and isolated while watching Star Trek and dreaming of a better and diverse future. I now feel a sense of community...I have truly found my tribe. :D Many thanks to Ms. Womack for her thought provoking and well researched work. Power Up!

A very good source for reference material relating to Afrofuturism. This is a well written book that get directly to the point of what Afrofuturism is considered and what encompasses its history. About the Author

Sean McNamara spent his childhood overseas in and was exposed to a variety of spiritual traditions. Early incidents of illness and surgery brought on a persistent fear and contemplation of death and of what happens afterward. In his twenties, McNamara became a Buddhist practitioner, using meditation to investigate the nature of consciousness and reality. Because many traditions eventually become rigid and limiting out of a need for self-preservation, and do so at the cost of each individual's unique development, McNamara took a different path. He found lucid dreaming and the out-of-body experience to be especially potent methods for his spiritual inquiry, and free of the dogmatic qualities found elsewhere. He eventually applied his knowledge of meditation to telekinesis to illustrate the themes of interconnectedness and intention to his meditation students. He currently teaches meditation, lucid dreaming, the out-of-body experience, and telekinesis in Denver, Colorado, with the purpose of showing others that spiritual growth is still possible as an independent, self-empowering, and revelatory path. Very nice and rich in knowledge. The writer knows very well his field. If anyone falls onto the study and practice with this book seriously, will go beyond the scope of this book. ie the writer shown and demonstrates some different methods to go through the 5 levels in order for someone to accomplish the primary stages of telekinesis, because telekinesis does not stop here or any other manual to read. Telekinesis has various and many forms of manifesting through. Not only moving light objects, or enclosed in a glass container. But someone can even manage to walk on water or moving circumstances and events, even re generate the cells of his body, and many more. Its just enough for someone to search and find.

There have been plenty of times when I set up a piece of foil or paper on a needle and tried to move it. This book gave me confidence to try again and it addresses the issue of what to do while putting in the time with it when it isn't moving yet. It isn't every time, because it does take time to learn, but I do consistently get good movement and my foil is under glass. The confidence it gives me carries over to other things in my life which also seem difficult or impossible.

I've very satisfied with this book so far. I'm just messing around with Level 1 and trying to see if I can get a response, but I love the down to earth and rational path that Sean McNamara takes. It's much less about the "Why" and a lot more about the "How" when it comes to Psycho-Kinesis, which is a HUGE rarity when it comes to Alternative Views today. Most books are filled to the brim with shaky explanations on how it all works, and I can speak from experience as someone who follows a more spiritual path, with many of the authors trying to persuade or intimidate you into their way of thinking about the world.This is why I LOVE this book; plenty of exercises and training methods for the mind, which is what I wanted from a book like this. Though I've read the book cover to cover and written notes on the processes, I'm just now digging into the exercises. It's day one so I don't expect miracles, but Sean McNamara's no nonsense and honest way of writing has me feeling that he is very trustworthy, to say nothing of the fact that he has many You-tube videos demonstrating his abilities.As for the delivery, I was amazed. I had gotten the Standard Shipping and was expecting this book sometime around the 24th of June. To my surprise I got it just 3 days after ordering! I am very satisfied with my purchase and would implore anyone looking for a possible path into the Meta-Physical world, one which gives verifiable and measurable results I might add, to definitely pick up this book!TLDR; 5/5, My delivery was incredible and so is the contents of this training manual.

I have not read all of this book as yet, there are exercises to complete along the way,but it is both exciting and challenging to get involved in this activity and I look forward to great success in the future.

We will see after practicing for a while. As a skeptic I must hold some caution to diving into random subjects

My daughter grew up with these books. I was really happy to see this book for my granddaughter. She's only 7 weeks old and it kept her attention. There are very few words on each page so it's perfect for a first book.

I purchased this book for my 5 year old grand daughter. I remember buying these same books when My now 26 & 28 year old sons had these books when they were young. I loved reading to them and I want to pass this onto my grand daughter. I love the Mercer Mayer books.Excellent books.

My daughter started out reading these books 13 years ago and now I have a son. I can tell you that having these books on hand helped her reach her AR reading goal every month in school. She could take the test on the book in 1st grade and really get points and awards in class which boosted her self esteem. We love the art of the newer critter books a bit better than the older ones but the stories are perfect. This time around I plan on getting lots of these books for my son because early reading is so essential!

I got this book for me and my grandson to read. We keep reading it over and over! It is perfect for me and my little 3 year old grandson.

Purchased this item for a mother's day gift for my mother in law. She loves the little critter series and read this to my husband when he was little. I purchased this and wrote on the inside of the front cover with my son's name and happy 1st mothers day as my grandma. This is for her house for her to read to him when he comes over. She was thrilled to open it :)

Book is thin and appears a little cheap but my mother loves reading this book to my daughter. They have a routine of 3 books they read when they’re together and this is one of them.

Grandma loves it, grandson loves it. Especially the little spider on each page.

My 3 year old grandson loves the Little Critter stories and has almost all of them. Since I am the grandma, I thought it would be fun for me to read this one to him. All of the stories are well suited to this age group and the drawings are always fun to explore. He loves the little animal and insect critters that are found on every page, and we make a game of trying to find the spider, the mouse or the grasshopper in each book. Very well written stories.
