About the Author
One of David Alan Arnold's earliest child-hood memories is a surreal experience of floating up from his crib and flying out a window. It must have been a dream. Today, David's job as Airborne Cinematographer flies him around the world, for movies like James Bond and TV Shows like Deadliest Catch, The Amazing Race, The World Series, Survivor and Super Bowl. When not flying, David volunteers to help his community. That's how he discovered an organized crime ring operating at a school bus stop. David's fight against organized crime inspired him to write a series of books about winning against the odds. A coming documentary series will take viewers into the stormy skies above Deadliest Catch and down to the trenches in a war against gangsters who took over a small town.

They say the truth is stranger than fiction. What Lies Above the Clouds is a raw, honest account of what it's like to be living a quiet life in a remote area of California; and have it disrupted when a real-life organized crime ring moves into your hometown. When money is the motive, all bets are off. This gripping account had me pausing in parts to pray for the author, his young son and his neighbors. Murder, racketeering, gang activity, narcotics, plenty of end rounds by the authorities and all this going down by a school bus stop serving the small community. I can hardly wait until Book 3 releases.

The image is haunting: dangerous and unpredictable adults gathering at a children’s school bus stop. Reasonable people say it wouldn’t be permitted; that in our current age of heightened awareness our kids would be protected from this sort of thing. That becomes the frustrating and baffling real-life mission for David Arnold in his, once quiet, home town. Who are these people? What are they doing next to the school bus stop? And why won’t anyone do anything about it? The book is fascinating. Who David meets, what his research uncovers and what he finds when he organizes his neighbors to conduct a volunteer mountainside search for a missing young man will absolutely blow you away. It took real courage to stand up for what was right, to film and photograph every step of his journey, and to print and share his story. The scary part is that his hometown is not the only place where this is happening. A chilling read. I recommend this book!
I stayed up late and got up early to finish this book. David Alan Arnold tells a tale of horror that many families face in America. Few would take the risks of exposing a crime ring in their own back yard for fear of retribution. But David is just that brave enough (or stupid enough) to take that risk. I think his overwhelming love for humankind sets an example that everyone should follow. I will recommend this book to everyone I meet and I cannot wait for part 3 and the documentary. DAVID ALAN ARNOLD, YOU ROCK!
This is book 2 (of 3) of David’s amazing memoirs written in his own unique style. I just couldn’t put this book down! After I started it, reading over 200 pages in the first sitting, I couldn’t get over all that was going on there! It’s a shocking and emotional read as David recounts the terror his small town experienced at the hands of frightening gangsters and the corrupt officials who blatantly overlooked all the criminal activity for personal gain. In the end, I admire (and was actually a bit stunned) by David’s perseverance and tenacity. It reads like a fictional Hollywood thriller but it’s a true story that can happen anywhere. A must read!
What Lies Above the Clouds is a true life crime story in our modern society. This book is gripping from the get-go as Dave Arnold shares his true-life saga of courage and bravery fighting for what's right and true, our children. Someone needs to stand up to corruption, crime, oppression and even murder. What Lies Above the Clouds is a reminder that if we turn a blind eye, we lose our right to a free and safe society. I highly recommend this book.
This is the second book from amazing author David Arnold. Both are his books are superb, amazing. The second book gripped so much. The town I love and where he lives in, apparently has disturbing, shocking true story that I don't expect it at all and he has the right to defend his beautiful town.I recommend to read his first book Help From Above and continue to read this book What Lies Above The Clouds. It was hard to put the books down. Love, love, love. David Arnold is the real deal â¤ï¸.
David goes above and beyond to make help save his town. He put his neck on the line. And almost lost his life. This is a story that needs to be told so it stops be allowed to happen. Good work Dave!
