Surprisingly readable and full of moral lessons about independence and innovation. Disappointed at the characterization of Native American characters (they speak broken English like Tarzan) so be aware of that drawback. Children enjoyed the stories very much.
I could’ve bought it new, Prime for the same price and better quality! As for the actual story, my 7 year old was very interested in it, it was on his level and it had several neat facts that I did not learn in school.
Fabulous book! Wonderful character lessons for both child and parent. We homeschool and have used it for our Wright brothers unit. It's been a phenomenal book and I would highly recommend it to any parent or child. Just wonderful!
Although this book appears to be biographical fiction for kids, the fiction outweighs the history so heavily that I see very little value in it as a history teaching tool. As a story, the plot is moral and enjoyable enough (if a bit trite) and seemed appropriate for a 2nd or 3rd grader just getting into longer chapter books. If you are hoping to learn a lot about the real Wright brothers, though, look elsewhere.
My 4th grader found this book rather boring midway through it, and he didn't finish it. It had to have been pretty boring, as my kid reads whatever he gets his hands on.
Great book!
arrived quickly and item was as described. great book of history for young readers!
Thanks
