The 5 star reviews must be bought because there was no portion of this book worthy. Wish there had been honest reviews or I wouldn't have wasted my time. The "boss/dom" is weak, in and out of the bedroom. Esp the bedrom. How can you even claim this as a Dom. Unsure of himself in the ONE place he claimed he needed to be in control and weak/indecisive everywhere else. You can't just call your character something and then not back it up in word or deed. Made it impossible to read. The mafia story line was useless. No one THAT uninformed would ever be put in charge and no mob boss would allow heir "heir" to be that nieve.
The Story was great that I love it
Ryder has been living in NYC, he gets notified that his dad has died. Ryder reads the will and finds out he has been left in charge of the Rainieri Enterprises. Adriana has been working for Rainieri Enterprises for a year under Paolo Rainieri. When she finds out he died she went into the office to see what she could do. She saw Ryder reading the will. Everybody thought that Adriana was Paolo’s Mistress but she wasn’t. Mama Rainieri hates her and wants her dead. Giovanni wants her. Ryder has been looking for a Sub for a long time. He takes Adriana to his playroom and she finally discovered why everybody enjoys sex so much, she has found her place. Ryder is so thrilled about how well Adriana fits in with his life. At the funeral Mama and Giovanni deposed Ryder from the head of the family. Adriana is threatened by both Mama and Giovanni. Will Ryder and Adriana be able to get to the truth of what has been happening? Will Ryder ever get control of the family? Will Ryder and Adriana be able to continue their play?I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is an excellent, dark mafia romance and I found it to be absolutely fascinating and pleasure to read.It is about: a new mob boss (Ryder) who is finally able to claim the feisty woman (Adriana) now that his father is deceased and can no longer protect her but his enemies are hiding in the shadows, watching and waiting for him to make a mistake.There is: a conniving brother (Giovanni), a manipulative mother, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, some action, danger, enemies, family issues, secrets, deceit, lies, memories, misconceptions, anger, attractions, some BDSM, domination/submission, threats, ambition, betrayal, revenge, evidence, drugs, murder, human trafficking, manipulations, evil, confessions, abduction, conflict, death, passion, love, happiness & steamy scenes.The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written, it definitely keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are quite well-developed with individual personalities and react with realistic emotional feelings. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This was definitely a dark, dark mafia romance. Ryder had been chosen by his deceased father, Paolo, to run the Ranieri mob family, even though he had nothing to do with it. The younger brother Giovanni was the one who had been trained and involved. Adriana had been Don Paolo's assistant for years and Mama Ranieri swore there was an affair(although there wasn't). Ryder has been looking for a submissive to meet his Dominant needs and has had absolutely no luck until he meets Adriana when he senses a connection. So not only does he needs her expertise to learn the business during the day, but he needs her submission at night. This book has some heavy sex-related scenes with BDSM overtones, power exchange. There are quite a few and I love dirty, sexy scenes but these border on overkill?? Just saying. Otherwise the book is great with sex, manipulation, betrayals, predators, fear, intensity, right and more!! You get really involved!!

This was a fabulous read. Ryder is looking for the perfect submissive and has almost given up hope. He is called home after his father's passing and discovers he's been left in charge of Rainieri Enterprises his father's company. When he meets Adriana his father's PA there is an instant attraction and connection between them. Has Ryder finally found his perfect submissive? I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and had an engaging storyline. The characters were well developed and had amazing chemistry. This is definitely a must read that will keep you turning the pages. Highly recommend. I voluntarily received an advanced arc copy for an honest review.
Ryder has lost hope of finding the perfect submissive, and when he is called home as his father has passed, he meets Adriana, who is his deceased fathers PA. These two are instantly drawn to each other. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written flawless story from this talented author, and is filled with action, drama, betrayal, and is a gritty and sexy read. I was totally captivated throughout.
