I studied Spanish in school and the stories in this book are an entertaining way to refresh rather than just reviewing vocabulary lists or verb conjugation charts. The one small change I’d make is putting the key vocabulary words before the story but otherwise this is an excellent option for someone attempting to brush up on the language.

I decided to buy this book to brush up on my Spanish since I haven't studied it in a long time and I still consider myself to be a beginner to the language. The book itself is fairly simple for beginners and it has a glossary after each story for complex vocabulary. However, I would not recommend this book for complete beginners, as not all the words in the stories are translated. If anything, it is helpful for those studying Spanish already and need an extra studying boost. Otherwise, this book is great for those willing to study Spanish!

The book contains a total of ten short stories that revolve around daily themes that are in Spanish as well as English. This book gives us an effective way of pronunciation as well as an English glossary in case if we do not know the meaning of such words. Spanish will honestly help me out the most in a few of my careers and the customer service job I have, so brushing up on even the basics is a good idea. Reading through this book I can tell it has multiple levels of handle on the language in mind as it breaks down some phrases and words in between the stories and teaching sections.Honestly, if you're looking to learn a language I would suggest this book simply because not only are the illustrations cute but if you somewhat think of it like a Spanish to english dictonary in a sense that you'd want to reference it and read through some of it to understand what you're hearing, so I personally feel it'd benefit anyone looking to learn spanish or if you already know a bit it doesn't hurt to read the short stories inside of it, they're all really cute actually. This was the 4th ebook I tried out and to be perfectly honest, this one was a lot easier to understand and the formatting was very easy on the eyes. The way they broke it down during each section and sewn the english and spanish together really helps you stay on your toes and prevents you from going too long without actually learning something, which is far better than some ebooks that dedicated most of it to the language (in this case spanish) and not really give you a helping hand by explaining in english or giving you a quick run down in english and spanish.If I had any cons about this product, it would be the the thematic length of some stories. It's not too long or too short, but some times when you're getting into a story it ends abruptly, so if I could offer any criticism, it would be to format some of the stories better so it follows an overall theme so you're not hopping around too much, it can get overwhelming but overall a fantastic book, especially in ebook form.

I have always wanted a thorough understanding of, at least, conversational Spanish but the last time I studied spanish was in middle school. Several years later I am very much out of practice. A continuation of the PJ series, with additional characters that are really beginning to flesh out nicely and become interesting on their own. An excellent series by Riordan, for all young adults.

I think this is the best book in this Heroes of Olympus series so far.All emotions, all tension , (almost) all expectations and thrills and drama are included in this one.I almost forgot to breathe myself.The story took you to the peak position and keep you there, it's really wonderful.Since My favourite character always be Percy, I'm so thrilled that he had a chance to take a tour in Tartarus..(^_-)-☆Because after all, he had already met and negotiated and fight with nearly most of the gods and Titans on the land, I thought it must be a good experience for him to challenge the big boss of Tartarus to enhance his power, and utilize it when the time comes.All the chapters about his and Annabeth in Tartarus journey were so good.And I'm so glad I had a chance to meet Bob, Small Bob and Damasen.Especially Bob.He was so sweet, so gentle and a very wonderful character.His word 'say hello to the stars for me' was so powerful it still makes my eyes full of tears and squeeze my chest so tightly every time I thought about this book, even after more than a month since I finished it.You will love Bob and small Bob so dearly, I guarantee you.Anyway, cause I wrote this review after I finished all the books in this series, and because this 4th book is really great as I told you, I don't know whether I should make some caution for you to not expecting much for the next (final) book or not.Of course, you've come this far you should finish it for good, but some times I wondered it might be better if I had stopped reading at this book and let my imagination end the series.Especially if you are Percy Jackson's fan like me.

I read this book as a college student and loved it. Being meant for young adults, the writing is pretty easy which makes it a quick read. However, the story is great! I've always enjoyed Greek mythology from my youth and was stoked when the the original Percy Jackson series came out. I personally enjoy this second series more because it includes both Roman and Greek mythology.One of my favorite parts about this series is that there is an Asian character as one of the main characters. He's not the stereotypical, nerdy Asian. He's a complete boss with awesome powers. He is so awesome that he is given a huge weakness to make things fair for the others.Most fictional books I have read very rarely incorporate races other than white as the main characters. Even if they are, they are often side, very minimal characters to the point where they can be killed off. (Except for Minho in the maze runner! Which is another interesting read btw). Here we have, Leo Valdez (Hispanic), Frank Zhang (Canadian/Chinese), and Hazel Levesque (African American). None of them die! They are all super important characters and each have a unique personality that many young adults can relate to.Overall, I think this is a great book which is a part of a great series! I look forward to more of Riordans work!

As we all know Riordan is an INCREDIBLE author. I read the olympians series as a beginning 5th grader and now I'm going in to 6th grade and I'm still reading it! My dad would get mad at me for not doing my homework first and just read read read. I would sleep at 11 instead of 9 and set an alarm to 6 just so I could read. This book I would give 999999 stars but I can only give 5. Bob was one of the best characters I feel like and I wish the series could go on forever! I recommend this for ages 10 and up unless ur a gifted reader like me, them read it in 4th grade. I never realized how good Riordan was until I had no books to read and finally decided to pick up the lightning thief. I was blown away and would not put the book down. I would definitely recommend this book as a read!Written by Sam, 6th grade?(I dunno if this counts, I'm in the summer between 5th and 6th) [im writing this on my dads account so I'm not Yi Sun]

My son and I both are reading this series. We have enjoyed following Percy Jackson and his friends from the beginning. Rick Riordan does a fabulous job in his writing. I imagine it's a little more difficult keeping a younger mind's attention, but his style is funny and humorous and reads just the way my son sounds when he describes his crazy ideas. I mostly read it to make sure that my son's book reports are accurate, but I do find myself wanting to know what's going to happen next in Percy's life. I think we will both be sad when Percy's story ends.

The book of onions is highly recommended as an off beat, insightful and just twisted enough set of comic drawings to make you think. Jake Thompson is well known for his Instragram comics and these are among his best. I got the book for Christmas as something to lighten up the holidays and I only got a chance to read it once before it was picked up and hoarded by every member of the family. Pretty soon we were all using short hand to refer to particular comics.Highly Highly recommended, think of its kind of as a Millenial Verizon’s of Larson’s Far Side cartoons, only a little darker and more ironic. Be warned there are some “f-bombs” and rough language in some of the pages so keep it with the adults.Best humor book I have read in a while.

Jake's sense of humor is undeniably macabre most of the time, but also undeniably funny. One of the better web comics to come out this decade and well deserving of a print publication. The book itself features some of his best strips in a great looking little book. The print quality is excellent and presents his cross-hatch heavy drawing style beautifully. Not all of the jokes will land with everyone, but most of them will, and a few of them will have you crying laughing (as advertised on the cover)-Yanni Davros (Cartoonist / Author of Prolific Pen Comics)

SO happy to get this. "Jake Likes Onions" has been one of my favorite webpages for quite awhile and it's great to finally have these cartoons in book form. NO one can make me laugh like he does...his off-the-wall humor (and dead-on accuracy about many people/situationsn) are right up my alley. I haven't enjoyed comics like this since "The Far Side". But just know....this is way beyond Gary Larson. A+++

I like Jake's work but the book doesn't contain the best selection, most people who i know follow him on Instagram do not like half the jokes. I guess in the next book he should take help from outsiders to pick the jokes.Don't get me wrong, the book is a keeper just not the best of the lot.

I can't get enough of his work whether it's online or in book form, and this book is a great addition for the bathroom or to circulate among friends at work (in that order).Criticism: I didn't think the captures on the comics were necessary, as they're good enough on their own.

Dakpo Tashi Namgyal (1513–1587) was the first recognized reincarnation of Gampopa and an important master of the Dakpo Kagyu tradition. He wrote two highly acclaimed texts on Mahāmudrā practice: Moonbeams of Mahāmudrā and Clarifying the Natural State.Elizabeth M. Callahan is a Tibetan translator of the Kagyu tradition. She completed two three-year retreats at Kagyu Thubten Chöling in New York, is a student of Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, and has been a Tsadra Foundation Fellow since 2002. Callahan, one of the leading and most accomplished translators of teachings from this tradition.In introducing the first book, "Moonbeams" (Dakpo Tashi Namgyal, 1512-1587), she writes "primarily it is a text for meditators: its instructions are to be internalized through practice. With exquisite and yet straightforward translations, well-researched and grounded in refreshing simplicity, the fruits of her extensive years of study, practice and training are revealed. Among hundreds of good books on Mahamudra, three are considered the most important for earnest practitioners of the Kagyu Lineage. These are ‘The Ocean of Definitive Meaning’ and ‘Dispelling the Darkness of Ignorance’ by the Ninth Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje (1556–1603) and ‘Moonbeams of Mahamudra’ by Dakpo Tashi Namgyal (1511-1587). All you need to know about Franchise!!!! Buy it and read it, cover to cover!!!

I am very impressed with the depth of knowledge provided by Rick Grossman and Michael Katz in this book. Whether you are an experienced veteran or just starting out in the franchise industry, this is a must read. Great roadmap and advice for authors who have been on all sides of the business. Will definitely recommend to others!

This book is essential for any person interested in a franchise business. The experience and insight that the writers have gained through the years is clearly presented in a logical and readable manner. Read this before you sign a franchise contract. Then, be ready to jump in.

Extremely basic, provides no useful information for someone buying a franchise

The 8th edition was redesigned to a smaller size. It lacked a lot of information contained in editions 5, 6 and 7. If this is the new format, I won't be buying any additional editions.

Rick Grossmann is the Mann for Franchise expertise. It's only appropriate that he wrote the book on it.

A bit old school in terms of insight

As a partner for franchisors/franchisees, I typically engage with clients after they have already secured space, started construction or opened their doors for business. I hear more often than not the frustrations of how difficult it is to open new sites on time, to stay within budget, to know everything one should be aware of while embarking on a new adventure including when and where to branch out and add more sites down to hiring the right staff to complement the brand strategy. I hear all of the time “if I only knew then what I know now” after the extra dollars are spent and the delays have hit. The Franchise Bible is the perfect tool to help any business owner (whether you are a franchisor or franchisee) start and stay on the right path to success. It will help alleviate the many frustrations, the exceeded budgets, the time delays, the how to questions, etc. It is an easy read with an interactive approach to help you make the right decisions, grow your business, and have access to an amazing team of consultants. Kudos to Rick Grossman and Michael Katz.
